as anyone. But at a school in the Bay


Area, teens are happy to be away from their


phones from 8:00 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. How did


this seemingly

impossible miracle

happen?


Yondr happened.


Yondr is a small pouch


ź

with a magnet


ź

that locks. Students turn their phones off,


put them in the pouch, and at the beginning


of the school day they get locked up. At the


end of the day, on the way out of school, all


the pouches are unlocked and the students


can go back to playing games, sending


messages, and Instagramming.


The assistant principal said that the idea


for using Yondr came from teachers. They


were tired of spending hours and hours taking


away students phones or telling them to pay
