edics who dashed to the epicenter of the novel corona-
virus disease (COVID-19) about two months ago have
started to say goodbye to Wuhan, the capital city of
Hubei Province in central China, starting March 17, as the out-
break has been subdued.
Over 42,000 medical workers from across the country were
dispatched to Hubei to Ķ ght against the epidemic. They worked
tirelessly on the frontline despite danger and hardship.
Their work greatly contributed to easing the epidemic situa-
tion in the province. On March 16, Hubei reported only one new
conĶ rmed case of the disease. On that day, the leading group of
China’s COVID-19 response announced an orderly withdrawal of
the medical staff supporting Hubei. Q
