There’snogettingawayfromthefact
thatthisisa coolflip,fromthematt-finish
carbonshelltotheunderstatedand
reflectivegraphics.It looksgreatandfeels
goodwhenyouwearit too— at 13 80git’s
lighterthanmy AraiRX7Vhelmet.
Thatcarbonshelliscombinedwith
titaniumpartssuchasa doubleD-ring
fastenerandit feelsreassuringlyhigh-end
(asyou’dexpectfroma £600lid).Comfor
isverygood— therearenopressure
pointsandit’ssoeasytowearforlong
periodsoftime,withexcellentstability.
Noiseisreasonable— quieterthanmost
full-facelids,buttheSportModulardoes
have a reputationfornotbeingthe
quietest— I didn’tfindit a problem,though.
Duringthewinterit provedtobeoneof
thewarmesthelmetsthatI’veused,with
greatdraughtexclusionanda reversible
helmetlinerthatisfleecyforwinterwith
a coolerversionontheotherside.
Theflip-downsunvisorworkswelltoo,
doesn’tinterferewithmy(big)nosebut
cansufferfrommistinginverycold
weather.Also,ona bike withwindblast,
mychincantouchthechinbar.
Thereareothernigglesaswell– the
chinventishardtoopenandcloseinthick
glovesandthereleasebuttonforthemain
visorissmallandhardtooperate.The
actualflip-frontleveriseasytofindand
liketheotheroperatingbuttons,feels
sturdyandlikeit willlast.

A reallynicehelmet,withmanyclevertouches,letdownbya coupleofsmall niggles.

Buildqualityandperformanceareverygood,though.
