CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, is one of the
world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Its
core mission is the study of the fundamental constituents of matter
and other elementary particles using high-energy accelerators;
it addresses some of the most exciting outstanding questions in
physics. The laboratory, based in Geneva (Switzerland), currently
operates the most powerful accelerator in the world, the Large
Hadron Collider (LHC).

CERN is an Intergovernmental Organization with 23 Member
States. It employs around 2500 staff members (physicists, engineers,
technical and administrative personnel). Its research facilities
are used by more than 13000 scientists, coming from more than
600 institutes from all over the world and representing nearly 100
different nationalities.

CERN is seeking to recruit a Director for Finance and Human
Resources.
As a member of the Directorate, reporting to the Director-General,
the Director for Finance and Human Resources will play a leading
role in ensuring that the Organization’s financial and human
resources match its scientific goals and allow efficient operation of
the Laboratory’s facilities.

The Global Fund (GF) is a partnership designed to accelerate the end of AIDS,
tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics. The GF mobilizes and invests more than US$
billion a year to support programs run by local experts in more than 100 countries.

The GF is seeking highly qualified experts to serve as non-voting, independent
committee members (IM) in two Standing Committees of the GF Board.More
information on the GF’s governance structures, the Audit and Finance Committee
(AFC) and Ethics and Governance Committee (EGC) is available at:

The expected minimum key competencies for each role are as follows:(1) AFC
IM on audit:(i) previous responsibility or oversight at a senior level in financial
audits/accounting; and (ii) experience with treasury-related functions and processes,
and/or investment and financial management strategies.(2) AFC IM on forensic
investigations:(i) previous substantive experience or oversight at a senior level
in forensic investigations; and (ii) experience with development work-planning
activities, guidelines, processes/procedures to conduct investigations of financial
expenses, legal, internal controls.(3) EGC IM on ethics:(i) substantive experience
or background overseeing ethics or standards of conduct and integrity, and (ii)
experience with reviewing allegations or complaints and conducting inquiries in
relation to ethics, conflicts of interest or integrity concerns.

Knowledge of the development and global health landscape, and experience working in
large governing bodies or organizations comparable to the GF including development,
implementation and oversight of internal operations and/or operating procedures, is a
