We’ll walk you through creating a simple gauge range to show how the gauge pointer can be
controlled by a value. On the Design tab, right-click the gauge and select Scale Properties under the
Gauge Panel submenu. Change the Maximum value to 20,000 and click OK. Now, when you drag
Visit_Count onto the data region of the gauge, the overall visit counts, which we know to be 9,687, will
show as a range when the gauge is previewed (see Figure 5-10). We’ve only scratched the surface of the
Gauge, but we will cover more detailed aspects of controlling the new gauge controls in Chapter 6.
