When previewed, the report is already taking shape, as shown in Figure 13-34; however, you need to
address some anomalies. First, the number format is not what you expected or wanted. A general
number, which by default is the data type assigned to the Avg Length of Stay field, is not desired. You will
need to add formatting to the number. Second, you will see rows and columns with empty values. This is
happening for two likely reasons. First, you are including patients who have not been discharged yet, in
other words, active patients. Second, marital status is not a required field, so some records will not have
values.
