W
elcome back,
Dreamer! This
tutorial will be a
bit different to
previous ones,
as it will be less of a step-by-step
walkthrough and more of a
general talk about how you can
sculpt characters in Dreams,
starting with your basic idea and
then blocking it out.
Characters are, at least in my
opinion, more challenging to
create than environments. Human
or human-like characters are
especially difficult to get right.
We’re so used to seeing humans
every day that even the smallest
mistake in proportions or
anatomy is quickly noticed, even
by people who aren’t used to
critiquing artwork.
The tutorial isn’t about the
mechanics of using the puppet in
Dreams, but about sculpting a
character that you can later hook
up to one. There are plenty of
great YouTube tutorials on how
to use the puppet.
I use PS Move controllers when
I create in Dreams and highly
recommend them.
