Billy Connolly Retires From
Stand-Up
BILLY CONNOLLY has ‘finished
with stand-up’ as he continues to
battle Parkinson’s disease.
The Scottish star, who now lives in Florida with
his wife Pamela Stephenson, was diagnosed with
the disease six years ago, and gave fans hope of
a stage comeback last year when he hinted more
performances may be on the cards. However, in an
interview with Sky News, Billy confirmed his stand-
up career is over, but insisted he is refusing to let
the disease define him. “I’m finished with stand-up
- it was lovely and it was lovely being good at it.
It was the first thing I was ever good at,” he said. The comic was famous
for his energetic presence on stage, but symptoms of Parkinson’s include
decreased mobility and difficulty speaking, leaving him unable to perform
to his usual standard. And while Billy has had offers to ‘go to Parkinson’s
things and spend time with Parkinson’s people’, the 77-year-old confessed
he ‘doesn’t approve’ of the idea. “I don’t think you should let Parkinson’s
define you and all your friends be Parkinson’s people,” he added. “I don’t
think it’s particularly good for you. So I don’t do it.”
Lizzo’s TikTok Swimsuit Videos
Restored
LIZZO’S swimwear videos have been restored
on social media site TikTok after she
suggested her posts had been removed due
to her size. The Truth Hurts hitmaker, who is known
for flaunting her curvy figure, shared her frustration
about the deleted clips in a post uploaded to the
app, in which she was shown having her hair styled
while lip syncing along to a track. Lizzo captioned
the footage, “TikTok keeps taking down my videos
with me in my bathing suits but allows other videos with girls in bathing
suits. I wonder why?” She then addressed site officials directly, adding,
“TikTok... we need to talk,” concluding her post with a single angry-looking
emoji. It appears Lizzo’s pointed complaint caught the attention of TikTok
bosses, who have since reviewed her content and restored the footage.
A spokesperson told the New York Post’s Page Six that they have been
in touch with the 31-year-old’s representatives, insisting her body type
had nothing to do with her video removals. Instead, they had flagged her
clips for what they believed was the flashing of underwear, a violation
of TikTok’s community guidelines. Yet, after revisiting the footage,
moderators realised Lizzo had actually been wearing a bathing suit, and
allowed all of her previous posts to be restored.
Chrissy Considering Implant
Removal
DURING an interview model/TV
personality Chrissy Teigan candidly
confessed that she went under the
knife as a young woman in order to look better in
front of the camera. “Yeah, I did my boobs when I
was about 20 years old,” she shared. “It was more
for a swimsuit thing. I thought, ‘If I’m going to be
posing, laid on my back, I want them to be perky’!”
Chrissy made her modelling debut in the Sports
Illustrated swimsuit Issue back in 2010, and
explained that she kept the same cup size, but just
‘filled them out, so they are rounder and firmer’.
“I had a quarter ‘teardrop’ cup in the bottom and filled out the breast
line,” the 34-year-old stated. However, Chrissy is now contemplating
further surgery as she has noticed changes in her breasts following the
birth of her daughter Luna, three, and son Miles, 21 months, whom she
shares with husband John Legend. “(When) you have babies... they fill up
with milk and deflate and now I am screwed. But I want them out now. If I
could do one thing, it would be to have a lift,” she said, before noting that
she has a lot of anxiety over the idea of heading to the operating theatre
again. “I think you’re supposed to replace [implants] every 10 years. But
when you have kids, you think about [the risks] of surgery and I think, ‘This
is not the way I want to die, in boob surgery’.”
