One of our
favourite game
series of all time
is Animal Crossing, a
life simulator where you
need play a role in turning
a simple world into an
amazing one. My Time at
Portia follows that kind
of experience. There’s
crafting, fishing, farming,
customisation options and
quests to complete. There
are seasons, cities, other
citizens and a large world
to explore, too. The visuals
are simple, but really
colourful and nice, and it’s
cool how the suns sets
and rises every day. We
also like the minigames
like horse racing, snowball
fights, cooking and
boxing. It’s nice howthe world evolves as
you progress, as
you create new
buildings and
watch as they
become more
modern. Also,
unlike Animal
Crossing, there’s
proper combat.
It’s simple, but
there are some
fun attacks,
including big
boxing gloves and
something similar
to a nerf gun. You’ll
love this game!What do you do
if MegaMechs
take control of the
world? You fight back,
of course. That is the
job of Captain Johnson
and his soldiers in this
action-packed sidescroller.
You are armed with a gun
that shoots infinite laser
bullets, although there are
different types of bulletsto get as you go through
the game. You also have a
baseball bat that you can
use for melee attacks. There
are three things that really
help this game standout.
Firstly, there’s the level
design, which is super
inventive. Sometimes
you are riding on snakes,
other times climbing a
tower, and then you’re in ahub world talking to your
commander. Secondly, are
the massive boss fights!
They’re so big, it’s almost
like they become a part of
the level themselves as you
climb up onto the bosses
themselves. And finally,
you can do it all in co-op- woo hoo! We even like
the mix or retro-modern
visuals!
