noteworthythattherewasnoclearcondemnationofslaves
fighting
innormalcircumstances;further,therestraintsonslaves
fightingappear
toreflectaconcernwithpropertyvaluemorethanwithhonor,
thediscussions
discourageslavesfrom
exposing
themselvestoneedless
danger
andthus
jeopardizingtheirmaster’s
property,as- The

betweenafreedslaveandhis

by
aMuslimremained
bytheir
master
longafteremancipation,
