In the midst of the novel coronavirus
(2019-nCoV) outbreak Chinese ath-
letes are training behind closed doors
for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Summer
Games.
“They are training in closed-
doors camps in various domestic and
overseas cities in preparation for quali-
fying tournaments and the Olympic
Games,” Liu Guoyong, Vice President
of the Chinese Olympic Committee
(COC), told Xinhua News Agency on
February 2.
“Until now, no athlete from the
national team has reported or is
suspected of being infected with the
virus,” he stressed. “We will do our best
to prevent any athlete from becoming
infected.” Special accommodation,
transportation and training arrange-
ments have been made to protect the
athletes and coaches.
“There will be over 100 qualifying
tournaments around the world be-
tween February and April. Hopefully,
the Chinese athletes will prepare well
and claim more Olympic berths,” Liu
said.
Liu also said that foreign coaches
working with the national teams were

The government plans to issue more
local government bond exchange-
traded funds (ETFs) for the healthy
development of local government
bonds.
Three ETFs had been issued by
the end of 2019, totaling 21.5 billion
yuan ($3.13 billion), the Ministry of
Finance said.

proved by the authorities and will
