miles) and stretches east as far as the Ural Mountains
in the Russian Federation. This guide covers 14
coun tries, 10 of which belong to the European
Union (EU), as well as the cities of Vienna, Moscow
and St Petersburg. The featured countries are
shown on this map in bright green. The principal
international airports and major road links are also
shown here, while the European rail network is
shown on the inside back cover.
