place to visit. Opened to
the public in 1984 as the
Museum of Popular Folk Art,
the permanent collection
expanded now covers wood-
carving, pottery, embroidery
and weav ing. Visitors can
access on-site workshops to
watch the artisans at work
and then try embroi dering a
waistcoat or table cloth them-
selves; an interactive kitchen
produces local specialities in
traditional ovens. However,
the work shops and kitchen
are open only on selected
days in the summer.

factory offers a fascinating

pro vides information on where
and when to join one.
