8 Goslar
Lower Saxony; 38640
One of Germany’s most attractive towns, Goslar is famous for its
half-timbered houses. The discovery of silver in the 10th century made
it one of Europe’s leading towns but it fell into decline after the Duke
of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel claimed the mine in 1532. Much of
the town has been preserved, along with its Romanesque palace.WHERE TO STAYAROUND THE WURMBERG
