SyncontheAppleAppStoreit appearsthatthis
isn’tjustanisolatedissueandotherusershave
experiencedsimilarconnectionproblemswhen
automaticallyshiftingfromBluetoothtoWi-Fi.
Afteraround 10 minutesof tryingto getbeyond
theBluetoothconnectionI finallyestablisheda
connectionbetweenmyiPhoneandtheS1.

connection process.3 Bluetoothmenu
PresstheMenubuttononthecameraandgo
totheBluetoothMenu.SelectSetandthen
Pairing and check the camera’s Device Name.Testbench CAMERA CONNECTIVITYoccasionsviaBluetoothtooka matterof
seconds.However,pressingtheremote
shootingbuttonin theLumixSyncapponce
againprovedproblematicin gettingtheWi-Fi
connectiontopairsuccessfully.TheBluetooth
sideof thingsworkedfine,withmyiPhone
askingif I wantedtoturnWi-Fionandconnect
withtheS1,butthen,liketheinitialset-up,the
Wi-Ficonnectionjusthungfora minuteorso
beforegivingup.
Switchingtoa manualWi-Ficonnection
provedthebetteroption.Onthecameraselect
Wi-Fi> Wi-FiFunction> NewConnection,
whichswitchesonthecamera’sWi-Fi.Next,
simplyconnecttothisWi-Fihotspotin your
phonesettings.It shouldbenotedthatby
defaultthereis nopasswordfortheWi-Fi,and
whilstthechancesof someonemanagingto
connecttoyourcameraareslim,setting up
your own password is a good idea.WiththeWi-FiconnectionnowmadeI could
openremoteshootingin theappandbegin
shootingaway.In useI foundtherewas
minimallagbetweenrealityandwhatI was
seeingonmysmartphone’sscreen.
PanasonicLumixSyncofferssomeof the
bestremoteshootingfeatureswehavecome
acrosssofar.Thelayoutof theappis clearand
straightforwardtounderstand,andyoucan
evenswitchtoa QuickMenustyledisplay.
Thereis a hugearrayof optionstocontrolyour
shooting;everyexposuresettingcanbe
changed,aswellasa wholehostof other
features,includingPhotoStyle,MeteringMode,
AspectRatio,PictureQuality,notforgettingthe
variousHighResolutionshootingmodes.
Totopofftheexcellentremoteshooting
experience,theshutterbuttonis responsive.It
firedtheLumixS1thatI usedfor testing with
