ple ask for my business card after seeing my car
magnets.
Magnets aren’t disposable advertising; they will
last you a long time. And, now that I think of it,
they cost about as much as a single monthly farm
mailer, but they will outlast and out-lead a
monthly mailer. Have your phone number printed
very large on the magnet. Many times people will
be looking from a distance, so make sure every-
one can see your contact name and phone num-
ber. Refer to Appendix A for resources on car
magnet printer companies.

2.Flyers.Flyers are not as effective as letters, but
with flyers you can canvas a larger area for less
money. Flyers should never be sent to your farm
for reasons we’ll discuss in Chapter 10. An effec-
tive flyer should be to the point and present an
offer of some kind. Make the flyers double-sided
and printed on bright, eye-catching card stock. If
you can afford to print in color and use a higher
quality printer, by all means do it. If neither you
nor your brokerage firm have a high quality
printer, then a regular copy machine is all you
need.
Sadly, the vast majority of people who receive
your flyer will throw them into the trash without
even looking at them. But all you need is one lead
to make this effort worthwhile. Dollar for dollar,
