Farming for FSBOs
to better use than stuffing, licking, and addressing
envelopes two days out of every month.
2.Customize your envelope.You can create a slogan
(which we’ll cover in more detail later in the chap-
ter) and print that along with your address on the
envelope. The printer should also pre-print the
post office permit stamp on the postage side of the
envelope, as shown in Figure 10-2. Try to set it up
so you can keep most of your envelopes at the
print shop; then e-mail the shop your monthly
newsletter for them to run off, stuff, and address.
3.Give homeowners a reason to open your mail.If
you are typing a newsletter with valuable infor-
mation, or if you have a gift inside the envelope,
such as a yearly calendar, make them find it. As
shown above in Figure 10-2, if you print on your
envelope, “FREE GIFT INSIDE!” or “WHAT’S
HAPPENING IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?”
