Downhillarethezen-likequalitiesoffollowinga
quiet nature trail through the wilderness, and the
tension of steering a bicycle around tricky turns and
thin lines. Going from checkpoint to checkpoint,
your aim is to reach your camp at the bottom of the
trail in the quickest possible time. Four mountains
with multiple trails are your private race courses. The
default mode allows you to restart from checkpoints
and totals your final time, although developer
Megagon Industries is also toying with a tougher
mode that takes your entire time into account.
Simply reaching the bottom can be a challenge if
you’re not careful, and weaving your way along the
marked path can take some time. You’ll be able to
make better attempts at improving your time when
you know the trails off by hand, as you’ll actually be
able to find your own shortcuts off the beaten path
to shave some serious time – if you’re confident
enough behind the handlebars.
The hills are alive with the
sound of us whooping as
we freewheel downhill.
The low-poly isometric
visuals look great, and
give the mountain a real
sense of scale.
Above You’re not limited to a single bike in the game – and different bikes
handle differently too, so you can find one that feels most, er, comfortable.
