RIGHT The resident frog population began
with a handful of spawn from a neighbour.
“Most years, we get at least 100 adult frogs,
as well as toads, diving beetles and newts, but
this year the spawn was completely devoured
by ducks,” says Ross. “It’s a bit frustrating, but
when you welcome in the wild, you sometimes
have to let nature take its course.”
