Step 12 Machine stitch all edges using
a^3 / 8 in (1cm) seam allowance, leaving
an opening of about 6in (15cm) for
turning. Turn the tent right side out, turn
under the seam allowance at the
opening, and press the entire tent. Top
stitch around all the edges; this will
close the opening.


SET UP THE TENT
Step 13 To s et u p yo u r b e a u t i f u l te nt :
thread a length of rope or sturdy string
through both of the centre loops and
tie it to trees or poles outside. Secure
the bottom-side loops with tent spikes
or weights, as shown on the right. Now
pull in a blanket, a cosy cushion and a
few of your favourite books and enjoy
some well-earned me-time before
letting the children loose in it so they
can claim it as their secret den.
