back of the quilt and pin it in place.

of your shorter binding pieces and

TACK฀IT฀IN฀PLACE฀WITH฀ONE฀SIDE฀FOLDED฀

DOWN฀AND฀ONE฀SIDE฀OPEN฀AS฀SHOWN฀

Step 9 Line up the folded end of the

BINDING฀WITH฀THE฀END฀OF฀ONE฀OF฀THE฀LONG฀

edges of the quilt that you bound in

STEP฀฀0IN฀THE฀BINDING฀DOWN฀THE฀SHORT฀

edge along the fold as before. At the

other end, cut off any excess binding,

LEAVING฀A฀CM฀^3 / 8 IN    ฀OVERHANG฀

Step 10 Fold back the end you just

trimmed by 1cm (^3 / 8 in) and tack the

binding on as you did for the long

SIDES฀-ACHINE฀SEW฀THE฀LONG฀EDGE฀OF฀

the binding. Repeat steps 8 to 10 on

THE฀OTHER฀SIDE฀4URN฀THE฀BINDING฀TO฀THE฀

back of the quilt and tack it in position.

Step 11฀฀฀/VERSEW฀ALONG฀THE฀CORNER฀

THEN฀TURN฀THE฀QUILT฀AND฀OVERSEW฀ALONG฀

THE฀SHORT฀EDGE฀AS฀BEFORE฀4AKE฀THE฀

tacking stitches out and trim all the

ends of thread.

Step 12฀฀฀4HREAD฀A฀NEEDLE฀WITH฀BRIGHT฀

thick embroidery thread and tie the

quilt together by tying a series of knots
