1

Trim your stitching
with a 1cm (½in) seam
allowance. Cut a piece of
lining to match.

2

With right sides facing,
machine or hand stitch
the top two edges of the
design together. Stitch as
close to the backstitch line
as possible on the outside
so that it doesn’t get
trapped inside the lining.
Trim off all four corners from
the seam to avoid bulk.

3

Turn through, fold and
iron the other two sides

into position. Trim off the
lining fabric that will be at
the tip of the holder.

4

Hand stitch the lining
fabric and the stitched
piece together with invisible
stitches along the edge of
the fabric; work carefully to
make sure that you don’t go
over the backstitch line.

5

Give the scissor case
its shape by stitching
together the hand-stitched
edges, using the biscornu
method. Pop in your
favourite scissors to finish!

“The colours in these peacock designs

are just mouth-watering, and anything

where sequins are involved and I’m in!

I love the idea of the scissor case as I’m

always losing my pair.”

Securing beads
Attach a seed bead with
the bottom arm of a cross
stitch, then add the top
arm of the stitch, making
sure one strand of thread
falls each side of the bead
to hold it upright.
