IN DEVELOPMENT:
NEW LENSES FROM
SIGMA & TAMRON

Last fall, Sigma announced a
partnership with Leica and Panason-
ic to work together on a new
full-frame mirrorless format built
around a new L-Mount. The Panaso-
nic S1 and S1R cameras were the
wrst bodies introduced for the
system earlier this year. Now Sigma

has released a lineup of its wrst
L-Mount lenses, a collection of 11
primes ranging from 14mm on the
wide end to a 135mm telephoto.
All of the lenses are adaptations
of Sigma Art series lenses currently
available for other mounts, opti-
mized for L-Mount. They will be fully
compatible with the AF systems and
in-camera stabilization of L-Mount
cameras.
The Art line lenses to be initially

offered are the Sigma 14mm F1.8
DG HSM, 20mm F1.4 DG HSM,
24mm F1.4 DG HSM, 28mm F1.4
DG HSM, 35mm F1.4 DG HSM,
40mm F1.4 DG HSM, 50mm F1.4
DG HSM, 70mm F2.8 DG
MACRO, 85mm F1.4 DG HSM,
105mm F1.4 DG HSM and
135mm F1.8 DG HSM. Availabili-
ty date and pricing are not yet
determined. Contact: Sigma,

Tamron has announced the
development of three new
full-frame lenses. Two will be
Di series lenses designed for
use with full-frame DSLRs, and
the third will be a Di III lens for
Sony E-mount.
Positioned as a portraiture lens
but also an option for landscape
photography, the Tamron 35-
150mm F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD
(Model A043) will be able to focus
as close as 17.7 inches throughout
the zoom range. Also for DSLR
cameras is the SP 35mm F/1.4 Di
USD (Model F045), a fast prime
that promises to be an excellent
landscape photography lens with
its fast maximum aperture for
working in low light or composi-
tions for which you want to
employ shallow depth of weld.
