Blending. This is two exposures taken with
different shutter speeds to capture the highlights
in one and the shadows in the other. The two files
were then manually merged in Adobe Photoshop
to create the one final image. This is done to
utilize the very best quality from the sensor in
both the shadows and highlights.

Here are a few examples of techniques I use in post-pro-
cessing that have altered the way I see landscapes. All these
techniques weren’t possible or practical with film and therefore
never explored. By becoming comfortable stitching images
together, I was able to see compositions I was never able to
capture prior, for example.
Stitching: Capture a scene in segments using multiple
frames that are stitched together in post-processing.
Merging: Capture a scene using multiple frames over the
course of extended time.
