RS rectangles
Work 2 RS rectangles, with RS facing to
start, as foll:
Pick up and knit 10 sts along the side
edge of the first base triangle.
Note: This is likely to be 1 st every 2 rows.
Insert the needle tip through a half stitch
when picking up sts.
Row 1 (WS): (P2, k2) twice, p2, turn.
Row 2: (K2, p2) twice, k1, ssk (use the last
stitch in the group of 10 sts and the first
stitch of the top of the next triangle).
Rep these 2 rows until all 10 sts for the
second base triangle have been worked,
ending with a RS row.
Rep from once more. The 2 RS
rectangles are complete.
Left-hand corner triangle
With RS facing, pick up and knit 10 sts
along the side edge of the last triangle.
Row 1 (WS): P2tog, p8, turn (9 sts).
Row 2: K9, tur n.
Row 3: P2tog, p7, turn (8 sts).
Row 4: K8, turn.
Row 5: P2tog, p6, turn (7 sts).
Row 6: K 7, tu r n.
Row 7: P2tog, p5, turn (6 sts).
Row 8: K6, turn.
Row 9: P2tog, p4, turn (5 sts).
Row 10: K5, turn.
Row 11: P2tog, p3, turn (4 sts).
Row 12: K4, turn.
Row 13: P2tog, p2, turn (3 sts).
Row 14: K3, turn.
Row 15: P2tog, p1, turn (2 sts).
Row 16: K 2, turn.
Row 17: P2tog, do not turn (1 st).
(With WS facing, there is 1 st on the
RH needle.)
WS rectangles
Now work 3 WS rectangles, with WS
facing to start, as foll:
Pick up and purl 10 sts along the side
edge of the rectangle. Turn.
Row 1 (RS): (K2, p2) twice, k2, turn.
Row 2: (P2, k2) twice, p1, p2tog (use the
last stitch in the group of 10 sts and the
first stitch of the top of the next rectangle).
Rep these 2 rows till all 10 sts for the
second rectangle have been worked,
ending with a WS row.
Rep from twice more. The 3 WS
rectangles are complete.
Turn your work.
Work a right-hand corner triangle as before.
Work RS rectangles as before.
Note: Pick up and knit along the side of the
rectangles rather than the base triangles.
Work a left-hand corner triangle as before.
End triangles
Now work 3 end triangles, with WS facing
to start, as foll:
Pick up and purl 9 sts along the side edge
of the triangle (10 sts). Turn.
