IMPRESSIVE INTERNALS
Where the iPhone SE really comes into its own
is with its internals. One of the biggest selling
points for the iPhone SE 2 is that it comes
equipped with the same A13 Bionic chip that
Apple issues in the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro
and iPhone 11 Pro Max devices, and Apple calls
this the “fastest chip in a smartphone”. The chip
offers faster processing speeds than the A11
chip which was included in the iPhone 8, and
alongside an 8-core Neural Engine, the device
offers real-time photo and video capabilities
with Machine Learning Accelerators pushing
the iPhone SE to deliver 1 trillion operations
per second, making it super fast.
The new iPhone SE also features 3GB of RAM,
up from the 2 GB LPDDR4 RAM included in the
original SE, and a single-lens rear camera, which
adopts some of the technology used in the
new iPhone 11, meaning better photography
than the iPhone 8. The new 12-megapixel
camera has an f/1.8 aperture with optical image
stabilization, alongside a wide color capture,
and a new Smart HDR feature for improved
highlights and shadows. Apple says that this is
the “best single-camera system” included in an
iPhone, and though some features like Night
Mode aren’t included, Portrait Mode, Portrait
Lighting, and Depth Control come as standard.
If you want to capture video on your
smartphone, fear not: the new iPhone SE
is capable of shooting 4K video at up to 60
frames per second, and extended dynamic
range support is also available. Users can also
take advantage of QuickTake, a new feature
