“It kind of comes from putting things in my
pocket since being a kid, and growing up in
a community that really looks out for people
and envisioning this crazy dream actually
becoming something possible,” Tenille
Townes told Apple Music about what inspired
her third album.
FIVE FACTS:
- Townes grew up in Grande Prairie, a city in
the northwest of Canada’s Alberta province. - Her first album arrived in 2011, the same
year she was nominated for the Canadian
Country Music Awards’ Female Artist of the
Year accolade. - The Lemonade Stand is Townes’ first album
released on a major label: Columbia Nashville. - Townes says that the album’s first single,
“Somebody’s Daughter”, is about “the desire
to really be looking out for one another and
things that we’re going through”. - Meanwhile, the second single “White
Horse” was inspired by “the fairy tales that we
read as kids and this idea of true love that we
paint in our mind.”
