to the home of a peasant family, who inspire
him to return to the battlefield.
FIVE FACTS:
- This is a spin-off sequel of Braveheart, the
1995 historical drama starring Mel Gibson. - In that film, he portrayed Scottish
freedom fighter William Wallace, but Gibson
has not participated in the follow-up
film’s production. - Macfadyen, on the other hand, reprises the
role he originally played in Braveheart. - According to Macfadyen, he wrote the
script of Robert the Bruce 12 years before
filming production initially began in
February 2019. - Robert the Bruce is King of Scotland in
this film, as its events take place after he
was crowned.
