Bletchley Park in Milton Keynes, the
former top-secret home of Britain’s
World War Two Codebreakers and now
a museum and heritage attraction, was
one of just 17 visitor attractions across
the whole of England to be awarded the
coveted ‘Gold’ accolade by VisitEngland.
The popular 25-acre heritage site offers
plenty of space, a children’s playground,
family workshops and family tours.
Spy kids will find the secret intelligence
gathering fascinating.Biggin Hill Memorial Museum, Kent,
tells the story of Britain’s most famous
fighter station through the personal
experiences of those who served there
and the community that supported
them. The museum is situated on the
same site as St George’s RAF Chapel
of Remembrance, built in 1951 to
preserve the legacy of those who served
and died at Biggin Hill during World
War Two. It offers a number of daily
family activities too, available as part
of a visit.At the Welsh Mining Experience,
you can meet the men who once
worked in dangerous conditions,
hundreds of metres underground
in our coal mines, as an epic tale of
industry and community unfolded
above them. They are returning to the
pit head to share their experiences
and memories with you as part of
the Black Gold Underground Tour.
Put on a helmet and step into the
lift where the adventure begins. The
tour ends with DRAM! This exciting
virtual ride is exclusive to the Welsh
Mining Experience and visitors should
definitely watch out for some surprises
along the way.Zip up and go
One for adrenaline junkies, Zip World Forest is set
in a beautiful woodland in the North Wales Conwy
Valley, close to the Snowdonia village of Betws y
Coed. Choose from the Fforest Coaster, the UK’s only
alpine coaster of its kind, fun on the Treetop nets or
zip line and adventure courses high in the trees on
Tree Hoppers or Zip Safari. Or you could try Europe’s
highest giant swing, Skyride.- Explore the past at Biggin Hill.
