Asforfauxleathers,a lotlookandfeelverydifferent
fromtherealthing,withanoftencoarsetexturethat’s
decidedlylesspremiumthantherealdeal.Couldyoumakea
materialthatcombinesthebestofbothworlds?Thefolksat
noblechairsseemtothinkso.Thecompanyhasdeveloped
a fauxleatherthatit claimsnotonlylooksandfeelslikereal
leather,butoffersbetterairflow,comfortanddurability.
Thehybridvinyl-basedmaterialis supposedtobe
breathableandreducethatstickyfeelingyoucangetwith
leatheronwarmdays.Intheflesh,apartfromitsmattsurface
havinglesssheenthanleather,aswellasa littlemore
texture,thematerialfeelsindistinguishablefromnoblechairs
leather-cladmodel.
Thenewmaterialis availableacrossallofthecompany’s
chairs,includingtheICONsampleit sentus.Therestofthe
chair,though,is mostlythesameasbefore.
Yougetfullyadjustablearmrests,withsoftpaddedtops
although,aswithpreviousnoblechairsdesigns,we’dprefer
thearmreststobea littlesofter.Theycanbeadjusted
horizontallyintwodirections,aswellasupanddown.
However,whiletheICONis thesmallestchairintherange,
if you’rea smalltomedium-sizedperson,thearmscan’tbe
adjustedinwardsquitefarenoughtoallowforfullsupport
whentyping.I hadtoadjusttheangleofmyarmsa bitto
compensate,andeventuallygotusedtoit, butwe’dliketo
seesomealterationshereinthefuture.

Therestofthechairis superb,

though,withanadjustable,

uprightbackanda good

rangeofheightadjustment.

There’snointegrated

lumbarsupportlikeyou’llfind

withthenoblechairsHero,but

noblechairsincludescushions

fortheheadrestandlumbar

areatoboostsupport,justlike

mostgamingchairs.

Buildingthechairis

straightforward,if a littletime-

consumingand,duetoits

weight,youmayneeda hand.

Wealsorecommendbuilding

thechairwhereyouintendto

useit, asyoudefinitelydon’t

wanttoendupcarryingit upthe

stairs.Thenewmaterialworkswell

inactiontoo.Sittingonthischairwasno

lesscomfortablethansittingona leatherchair,andboth

clothesandskinhadfarlesstendencytogetstucktoit inhot

weatheraswell.

Conclusion

ThenoblechairsICONBlackEditiondoesn’toffertoomany

newfeaturesovertheoriginaldesign,andthereareoneor

twoareasofadjustmentthatwe’dchangetoo– outofthe

box,it’sgearedmoretowardsmediumtolargepeoplethan

smallerfolks.

Welovethenewmaterialthough.Whileleatheris

generallythemust-havepremiummaterialwhenit comes

tochairs,thecompany’snewvinylmaterialis a bighit

withus.It reducesthecost,andsolvesseveralissueswith

leather,suchasitsbreathabilityandcomfortonwarmdays.

It alsolookspremiumtoo,andnoblechairsofferssome

droolworthycolours.So,if youfancya noblechairsgaming

throne,butcan’tquitestretchtoa realleatherversion,the

newBlackEditionmaterialis justasgoodinoureyes.

The noblechairs ICON is still one of the best chairs around,

and the Black Edition’s new material is cheaper and better

than leather to our eyes.
