Are our heroes working on new
Difford/Tilbrook classics?
Chris: “I don’t feel the need to write a whole new
album just so we can tour. The fans like it, but radio isn’t
that bothered and to make a living out of streaming you
need millions of plays. We’ve discussed crowdfunding –
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has done a genius job with her orchestral
album campaign – but I’m not sure we need to do it now.
Maybe in the future.”
Glenn: “It takes a long time to make an album, and that time for
Squeeze has gone. What we can do is put out individual songs now
and then. New songs are mostly in our heads at the moment, but that’s
an important stage.”
