THE ANIMALS WENT IN TWO BY TWO...
Part farm manager, part life-sim, all colour and cuteness, Ooblets
is more adorable than 50 pugs dressed in sailor suits.
The titular creatures are ludicrously cuddly, all sporting names
that will thaw out your cynical ticket in seconds. Who wouldn’t
want to raise and nurture little beasties called ‘Bristlebud’,
‘Chickadingding’, and Dooziedug – the latter of which seems to be
mixed with parts from a polar bear and a sheep. Trust us, it’s less
creepy than it sounds. Battles between the farmland critters also
play out as dance battles. Too. Much. Cute. With an art style
reminiscent of the Katamari series, and with elements of Stardew
Valley, this farmer should be fab. Q

WE’LL DRINK TO THIS ONE
If you’re partial to the odd post-work tipple, there’s a good
chance you’re going to be smitten with this graphic adventure.
Sharing a visual style similar to the evocative Oxenfree, you
take on the roles of Milo and Lola: two recently dead pals who are
facing an eternity in the depths of Hell. There’s one crucial
loophole, though. If the pair can outdrink the devil, they get a free
pass out of the Underworld. Cue a hungover, shot-downing pub
crawl through Hell’s seediest bars, where the pair try to out-
dance, arm wrestle, and out-booze demon scum. With a wicked
sense of humour and a darkly daft premise, we can’t wait to down
all the virtual rum and cokes. Q

FANCY A QUICK DIP?
Never say videogames don’t teach you anything.
Developed by the studio behind Never Alone, which
sensitively explored Alaskan culture, this inquisitive title
educates you on marine life. You step into the flippers of
marine biologist Marai, as she explores the South China Sea.
Swimming looks reminiscent of the charming Abzu, while
E-Line Media has opted for a minimalist HUD so as not to
intrude on all that watery wonder as you paddle around.
Aside from featuring all manner of scannable underwater
critters, the game promises branching narratives depending
on how Marai acts with members of her diving crew. Q
