Crunch time

Given this is a review section, I have

a review for you. M&S custard

creams aren’t as tasty as Sainsbury’s

custard creams. They may look

identical, but there is a gulf of taste

between them. These M&S biscuits

have a weird aftertaste/mouthfeel.

It’s somewhere between the

squeaky tongue effect of

overbrewed tea and the cloying

mouthfeel after cheap takeout.

Irritatingly, this led me to check

the ingredients and I’m now

thinking the nice custard creams

might be nice because they contain

higher amounts of regular sugar

AND a bunch of icing sugar. Even

more irritatingly, both the bad

and the good custard creams

contain palm oil so I now need to

figure out my stance on that

complex issue. Biscuits: 7/10.
