Books app: reading goals Calendar attachments.
1
Do you read every day? Do you wish to improve your reading
habits? Then why not set yourself a reading goal? First of all,
open the Books app and tap the Reading Now icon at the bottom of
the screen.
1
You can now attach documents or pictures to your Calendar
appointments. First, make the Calendar event in the usual way.
If it’s already there, open it and tap Edit. Scroll down the screen and
tap the Add Attachment link.
2
At the top of the screen is a link marked ‘Today’s Reading’. Tap
it and you’re taken to a new screen, where you can see how
much reading you’ve done today and how many books you’ve read
this year.
2
You’re taken to the Files app, from where you should navigate
to the attachment you wish to add to your Calendar event.
Tap it, and the document is added as an attachment. You can add
almost any file to your event.
3
Tap the timer, then tap Adjust Goal and you can set a longer or
shorter daily goal. Tap the Share button to share your reading
goals with others. Of course, only books read in the Books app count
towards your goals.
3
With this done, next time you open the event in question, you
see the attachment too. To open it, just tap it. Attachments are,
of course, synced over iCloud so they appear on all your Apple devices
signed into your iCloud.
