as rising soul star Victoria Monét has penned
material for various artists over the years,
including Ariana Grande, Nas and Chris Brown.

- Monét originally discovered her passion for
writing music after exchanging poetry with
a cousin. - Before establishing herself as a solo star,
Monét was briefly a member of a girl group
called Purple Reign, but they were dropped
from their record label and disbanded before
releasing any music. - Monét has collaborated with Ariana
Grande on several songs, including “Better
Days” in 2016 and “Thank U, Next” in 2018. - The earliest-released single from JAGUAR
was “Ass Like That” in late 2019, well before
the album itself was officially announced in
June 2020. - Monét named the album after the jungle
cat due to its tendency to lurk undetected
before unexpectedly re-emerging, which is
the journey that Monét’s own musical career
has taken.
