stitchasif toknit.Wrapthe
yarnaroundthepointandpull
through,slippingthestitch on to
the left-hand needle.Pushthepointoftheright-hand
needlebetweenthefirstand
secondstitches.Wraptheyarn
anti-clockwisearoundthepoint
of the right-hand needle.Pulltheloopoutwiththeright-
handneedle,thenslipit overthe
tip of the left-hand needle.RepeatSteps2 and3 untilyou
havethenumber of stitches you
require.1 2 3 4Makea slipknotandplaceit
ona needle,leavinga longtail.
Thetaillengthdependsonthe
numberofstitchesyouwishto
caston.Trya lengthabout 3
times the width of the project.Holdthetailinyourlefthand
withyourthumbstickingup.
Makea circleanti-clockwisewith
yourthumb.Youshouldendup
witha cross on the front of your
thumb.Pushtheneedletipalongthe
outsideofyourthumbsoit
passesthroughtheloop.Wrap
the working yarn as if to knit.Drawtheyarnthroughthe
thumbloopandthenbetween
thearmsofthecross.Slipyour
thumboutandpulltotightenthe
