off and following Lorelei to Atlas’
temporary camp in the Spillways
tunnels. Here we find a potential side
mission offered by a civilian NPC,
entitled ‘Maliwanabees’. The civilian
quest-giver tells us that a pair of
Maliwan psychos, Rox and Max, are
trying to ‘out-warcrime’ each other,
and one of them killed her family.
She wants us to find out which one
did it and kill them in retribution. So
it’s back out into the Spillways to
search for clues as to who did the vile
deed. Rox and Max are both claiming
responsibility, and the clues don’t
give us any more indication of who
actually did it, so the civilian tells us
she doesn’t care which one we kill.
It doesn’t take long to locate Rox
and Max’s base in the Outrunner, and
a short skirmish later, Rox is dead,
though weirdly we’re forced to leave
Max alive. Ah well, back to the civ for a

stacked against us this time, it’s a
tense battle in which we get to see
some of the game’s environmental
