Indoor wreaths are set to be big news in
the run up to Christmas, and our friendly
hedgehogs perched on top of toadstools have
a sweet vintage feel that will work well at
any time of year. Put your wreath in context
when taking photos for your online store –
display on a wooden door to show it in use
and to give customers an idea of its size.

Skilllevel:EasyHow to make the wreath
(^1) Cut three strips of cerise fabric measuring
5 x 100cm(2x3 9 ½in). On each fabric strip,
fold the long sides under by about 1.5cm
(¾in) each side or so that they overlap
slightly at the back, then iron them flat.
(^2) Pin one end of a fabric strip to the back
of the wreath ring, then wrap the fabric
around the ring, overlapping as you go. When
you get to the end of the strip, pin it on the
reverse of the ring. Repeat with the other
fabric strips untilthe ring is covered. Remove
ppins andgglue ends at the back of the ring.g
(^3) Use the templates on page 102 to cut
out the shapes for the hedgehogs, toadstools
and roses in the colours indicated on the
template page. Sew the hedgehog backs to
the hedgehog fronts using an overstitchthe hedgehogfronts usingan overstitch.
(^4) Sew the two hedgehog back pieces
together and stuff tightly with toy filling as
you go. Sew each pair of leg shapes together
using an overstitch, then stuff tightly with toy
filling before sewing them closed.gbe o e s gt e c osed.

(^5) PPositiitionththeffour creamllegs onttoththe grey
hedgehogso that they are slightly pointing
forwards, and sew in place. Position the beige
legs onto the brown hedgehog with two at
the bottom of the body that are pointing
forwards and two halfway up that are
pointing downwards, to make it look like the
hedgehog is sitting upright. Sew in place.
(^6) Sew abbllackkpom-pom onto thheenddoff
each hedgehog's nose, then attach two black
beads to make the eyes. Using all the strands
of the embroidery thread, sew two long
straight stitches to make a smile underneath
the nose, as shown. To make rosy cheeks,
dab circles of pink chalk onto the face, then
smudge them slightly with your finger.
