Machiavelli (Durham, N.C., 1965). George Bull’s transla-
tion was first issued in the Penguin Classics series in
1961, and there is also an Oxford World’s Classics edition
by Peter Bondanella, with the translation by Bondanella
and Mark Musa (Oxford, 1984). Parallel Italian and Eng-
lish texts feature in Musa’s earlier edition of the work
(New York, 1964).
