Tire Tread Stitch
By simply changing the yarn position on each stitch in the row, you
produce a gentle, geometric texture.
Work off lps as normal: Yo, pull through 1 lp on hk, yo, pull
through 2 lps on hk; rep from to end
Ch an odd number of sts.
Row 1 (RS) Fwd: Pull up lp in 2nd ch from hk and ea ch across. Rtn:
Work off lps as normal.
Row 2 Fwd: (Lp on hk counts as 1 st.) Tps in next st, Tss in next st;
rep from across to end. Rtn: Work off lps as normal.
Row 3 Fwd: (Lp on hk counts as 1 st.) Tss in next st, Tps in next st;
rep from across to last 2 sts, Tss in last 2 sts. Rtn: Work off lps as
normal.
Rep rows 2 and 3 to desired length.
Last row: Tps in next st and pull through lp on hk, Tss in next st and
pull through lp on hk; rep from to end, fasten off. 1

Tunisian Extended Stitch
By adding a simple chain stitch at the end of each standard Tunisian
simple stitch, you get a lovely thin fabric perfect for any stylish
garment.
Ch any number of sts.
Row 1 (RS) Fwd: Pull up lp in 3rd ch from hk, ch 1, pull up lp in
next ch, ch 1; rep from across. Rtn: Yo, pull through 1 lp on hk, yo,
pull through 2 lps on hk; rep from to end.
Row 2 Fwd: Ch 1, Tss in next st, ch 1; rep from across row. Rtn:
Yo, pull through 1 lp on hk, yo, pull through 2 lps on hk; rep from
to end.
Rep row 2 to desired length.
Last row: Tss in next st, ch 1 and pull through lp on hk; rep from
to end, fasten off.
