Gerber Daisy Granny Square

The beauty of the three-dimensional daisy in the center of the clas-

sic granny square is as lovely in two colors as in one solid square.

Ch 4, sl st to 1st ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, 8 sc in ring, sl st to 1st sc, do not turn.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 4 dc in 1st sc, turn, ch 3, dc in next 4

dc, *ch 4, turn, 5 dc in next sc, turn, ch 3, dc in next 4 dc (petal

made); rep from * in ea sc around, ch 2, hdc in top of t-ch, do not

turn—8 petals.

Rnd 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc around post of hdc, *ch 1, sc in

next ch-4 sp, ch 1, [3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in next ch-4 sp; rep from * 2

times, ch 1, sc in next ch-4 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in last ch-sp, hdc in top

of t-ch, do not turn—24 dc.

Rnd 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc around post of

hdc, *[ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp] twice, ch 1,

[3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in ch-2 sp; rep from * around to

last ch-2 sp, [ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp] twice, ch

1, 3 dc in last ch-sp, hdc in top of t-ch, do not

turn—48 dc.

Rnd 5: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc around post of
