Popping Circle Stitch
Bursting from the fabric are sculptural circles that you can high-
light even more with a color change.
Circle: 6 dc around post of next dc, turn work 180 degrees, 6 dc
around post of prev dc (circle made).
Ch a multiple of 8 sts plus 2.
Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hk and ea ch across, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ea dc across, dc in top of
t-ch, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 3 dc, *circle around post
of next and prev dc, dc in top of same dc (behind circle), dc in
next 7 dc; rep from * across to last 4 dc, circle in around post of
next and prev dc, dc in top of same dc (behind circle), dc in next
2 dc, dc in top of t-ch, turn.
Rows 4–6: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ea dc across, turn.
Row 7: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 7 dc, *circle around post
of next and prev dc, dc in top of same dc (behind circle), dc in
next 7 dc; rep from * across, turn.
Rows 8–10: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ea dc across, turn.
