Overwatch Lego
$19.99+ • Lego
shop.lego.com/en-AU/
From a measly $20 right up to $140 you
can own one of six Overwatch Lego sets,
which range from a single character
(Bastion) through to set pieces with
minifigs for something like Watchpoint
Gibraltar with Mercy and Winston.
POWERED UP: It’s Overwatch. It’s Lego.
What’s not to love?
PLAYED OUT: The sets with the minifigs
aren’t as cool as the bigger builds like
Bastion, Reinhardt, and D.Va. There
also isn’t a full set of heroes (yet) so if
you’re a weirdo who hates all the current
options, you’ll have to wait. Or maybe
make your own!
Samsung Galaxy Fold
~$3000 • Samsung
http://www.samsung.com/au/
Bendable displays are something phone
manufacturers have been talking about
as a concept for a while, and it looks like
the tech is about to go mainstream with
Samsung announcing the Galaxy Fold.
POWERED UP: 7.3in QXGA+ AMOLED
with the cover display at 4.6in HD+
AMOLED. It has more cameras than
we even know what to do with – two
for selfies, three on the rear to get
ultra-clear brunch photos. Octa-core
processor, 12GB RAM, and 512GB
storage, with room for another 512GB
on MicroSD.
PLAYED OUT: That price sure is
something else. Wow.
Miu
iu
en
sign is the motto to which Miu
s,and it doesn’t get much calmer
chunk of murdered tree stuffed
lectronics and then hung on
wall for your entertainment. And
rtain it can.
ERED UP: Wifi and Bluetooth
nectivity allow this minimalist piece
ech to show temperature, weather,
e, display messages, control lighting,
ating... just about anything you’d want
a smart device to do. The standout is the
actual display, which is invisible until the
device is touched.
PLAYED OUT: No voice command ability
yet, which is a real shame.
Opkix One
$450+ • Opkix
http://www.opkix.com
If you’ve ever wanted people to shy
awayfrom you in horror, attaching a
small camera to your glasses is a good
way to get it to happen, and the Opkix
one is small and light enough to do
just that.
POWERED UP: 1080x1080 30FP
recording, IP-67 dust and water
resistant, up to 70 mins of capture time.
It’s “egg” case has some smarts too, and
will transfer your videos to your phone
while charging the camera at the
same time.
PLAYED OUT: Opkix claims this is “social
video”, but we’re not able to envisage the
social situation in which a camera like
this is welcome.
Roboshark
$TBA • Robosea
http://www.robosea.org
Take your sea/swimming pool prank
game to the next level with this (nearly)
two metre long robot shark.
Hilarity ensues.
POWERED UP: With the ability to swim
(like a shark) at up to 10 knots, down
to 300m, and able to be kitted out with
an assortment of sensors and cameras,
the Roboshark is a neat underwater
research tool. Theoretically its shape
and natural movement should allow it to
observe the environment in ways other
equipment couldn’t, assuming all the
ocean life isn’t scared off because it’s
shaped like a deadly predator.
PLAYED OUT: Roboshark doo doo doo
doo doo doo.
