Lesson 2 Multiply Decimals 7

Koalas
Koalas are often called koala
bears, but that is not correct.
Koalas are marsupials, not
bears.

KOALAS Koalas spend about 0.75 of each day sleeping. How many hours
does a koala sleep each day?

To multiply decimals, multiply as with whole numbers. The product has
the same number of decimal places as the sum of the decimal places of
the factors.

Multiply a Decimal by a
Whole Number

KOALAS Refer to the information above. How long does a koala
sleep each day?
There are 24 hours in each day. So, multiply 0.75 by 24.
