containers of popcorn: a
square prism and a square
pyramid. They are both
4 inches tall and have a
base area of 16 square inches.

In the following Activity, you will compare their volumes.

Draw each net onto card stock. Cut out each and tape
together. The prism and pyramid will be open. The
pyramid is composed of four congruent isosceles triangles
with bases of 4 inches and heights of 4^
