  2. TRUCKS The dimensions of the bed
    of a dump truck are length 20 feet,
    width 7 feet, and height 9 _^12 feet.
    What is the volume of the bed of the
    dump truck?


EXAMPLE 1 A local city provides
residents with a rectangular container for
recycling products. Find the volume of
the rectangular container.

and h with 15.
V = 5,040 Multiply.

    12 inches and a diameter of 10 inches.
    Find the volume. Round to the nearest
    tenth.


EXAMPLE 2 Marquez stores his toys in
a cylinder-shaped can like the one shown
below. Find the volume of the can. Round
to the nearest tenth.

V = π 32 (7) Replace r with 3 and h with 7.
V ≈ 197.9 Multiply.
The volume of the cylinder-shaped can is
197.9 cubic feet.
