a career in the culinary arts. Research chefs use their culinary skills and their

knowledge of food science to develop recipes, menus, and products for restaurant

chains and food manufacturers. Research chefs are creative and have a passion

for cooking and an understanding of food trends, but they must also have strong

computer skills, be knowledgeable about new technologies in cooking and food

science, and be able to use mathematics to develop their recipes.
