Perimeter Problems
Area and perimeter problems can get complicated for students when there
are unknown sides. Also, students tend to get confused when we start
looking at rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas or with
the same area and different perimeters (see Figure 3.22).

Here is another example of a problem where the picture can scaffold
the thinking. Students should also act out the problem (see Figure 3.21).
