Summary
Problem solving is involved. Students should be consciously thinking
about how they are solving problems, which strategies they are using and
what models they are using. There are so many moving parts that it is
important to use templates, checklists and rubrics so that students can
monitor and reflect on their work as they are doing it and can think about
whether their answers make sense. If students are aware of their process,
then they can explain and justify what they did.
