for $1.90. To the nearest cent, what

is the cost of each container of juice?

To find the cost of each container, n,

divide: $1.90
 6 n.

First estimate by using compatible numbers:

$1.80
 6 $.30. Then divide.

Sometimes the division results in a remainder,

no matter how many zeros are written in the

dividend. You can round these quotients. In this

case, the quotient is rounded to the nearest

cent (hundredths place).
